How do CONSULTATIONS work?

These are typically 15-min phone calls wherein I will ask the clients what their goals are, obtain a brief psychosocial history from them, and ask about whether they wish to involve esoteric practices in our work together. A consultation does not mean we are guaranteed to work together, especially if the client feels it is not a good fit. If it is not a good fit, I commit to providing referrals I think would best support their needs.

How long does THERAPY typically last?

It depends on the service you require from me. If you choose Individual Therapy, the timeline can be short-term or long-term dependent on your needs and current therapy goals. This could be as short as 4-8 sessions and as long as 1+ years of weekly or biweekly sessions. If you choose Consultation or Coaching, the timeline tends to be much shorter due to the nature of this intervention being solution focused and goal oriented. Typically it ends after a goal is reached. If you choose 1:1 Tarot Readings, the timeline is much more sporadic and can vary from weekly check-ins to random readings. This choice is the most flexible and does not require a therapeutic contract.

How does TAROT INTEGRATED THERAPY work?

It can work in a few different ways. My main goal is to integrate the use of Tarot Cards (full readings or card pulls) and use them to direct a therapy session. This is meant to support intuition and perspective taking, serving as a projective tool or a “synchronicity generator”. According to Carl Jung, “synchronicity” is the concept of making meaningful connection without causation. It can be a spiritual experience to allow the cards to guide a session. The point is for the client to reflect on the cards while a trained mental health clinician interprets and guides the client through a reading. It is not meant to be “predictive” in nature as the root of all of our needs come from within ourselves and the cards provide the tool to do so. See my blog page for more insight into this practice and my ideologies about mental health and therapeutic intervention.
